Students typically have four classes each day, and classes vary based on the individual graduation plans they create with their school counselors. We offer courses at the college preparatory and honors level, and students wishing to take courses for advanced placement (AP) credit are able to take courses through South Carolina’s state-level virtual learning program. Additionally, upperclassmen are able to enroll in Dual Enrollment courses to earn credit through both SCVCS and a participating local college or university.
In addition to the academic core, we offer courses in Spanish, Physical Education, and a variety of Career and Technical Education (CTE) areas. Our robust CTE program includes offerings in Health Science, Veterinary Science, Law Enforcement, Sports Medicine, etc. Several of our CTE tracks offer the possibility of earning industry-recognized credentials.
Our High School includes programs designed to meet the unique needs of all learners. We have a full array of special education supports, including resource, self-contained, and speech offerings. There is also a program to support our Multilingual Learners. Additionally, all students are offered varying levels of support, as needed, through our multi-tiered support system (MTSS) with supports ranging from academic tutoring to small group work with academic interventionists.
Students regularly attend advisory sessions aimed at developing and fostering the World Class Skills and Life and Career Characteristics outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate.
