2024 Board Election Notice
SCVCS has contracted with the Public Charter School Alliance of South Carolina (PCSASC) to handle the
election, ensuring integrity and confidentiality. The governing board consists of seven (7) members who are elected and appointed for two-year terms. Currently, there are 4 elected seats up for election in this cycle.
Election Timeline
August 2, 2024: The call for candidates will be distributed to the public. Each prospective board member
must complete an online candidate filing form. The PCSASC will provide the form to the school for online
distribution and submission.

August 16, 2024: Close of nominations. Acceptance of nominations will close at noon (12:00 pm) EST.
August 21, 2024: Candidate Information, profiles, & application answers will be posted online by 5:00 pm.

August 28 & 29, 2024: Voting open with e-ballot links emailed to each parent/guardian and employee of
SCVCS. There is one vote per child enrolled in the school and one vote per employee. Voting will be
available via e-ballot allowing parents and employees to vote electronically starting at 8:00 am August 28
through 4:00 PM August 29, 2024. Each ballot will have a unique pin number to ensure confidentiality and
integrity of the process.
August 30, 2024: Board Election Process Complete. 2024 School board members will be announced
publicly.
Meeting and Training Requirements
SCVCS Board Members are required to attend board meetings.
Mandated Board Training—All board members are required to attend board training within 3 months of
being elected. The South Carolina Department of Education will offer free training across the state.
