• Total number of graduates = 271
• 1 Senior graduated with both their High School Diploma as well as with an Associate Degree in Art from USC Lancaster
• 69% of the graduating class will be enrolling in advance training and have earned over $4.9 million in scholarships
• 3% of the graduating class will be enrolling in the military
• 28% of the graduating class will be entering the workforce

Commencement exercises for the SCVCS class of 2024 will take place on Thursday, May 30th at 3:00pm at the Koger Center for the Arts.

COLUMBIA, SC – South Carolina Virtual Charter School (SCVCS) was recognized for their outstanding academic performance in the 2022-2023 school year at the Charter Institute at Erskine’s Academic Showcase on Friday, November 3, 2023.

SCVCS’ High School earned a Bronze School of Distinction award for outperforming the local school district in Algebra 1, English 2, and Biology 1 in the 2022-2023 school year. They also saw an increase in the percent of students scoring a ‘C’ or higher in Algebra, Biology, and US History. Finally, SCVCS’ High School has increased its graduation rate by 8.5% from 2022 to 2023.

“We are humbled to be honored for these achievements. Erskine has done a great job of professional development for our staff, and it has been a huge gamechanger for us,” said SCVCS Chief Executive Director, Dr. Cherry Daniel.

At the showcase, charter schools from around the state were celebrated for their academic achievement and outstanding growth. SCVCS was one of 14 schools recognized at the event and was asked to present their strategies for academic growth with their peers.
